Sarcoidosis...My Partner In Life
|
I
moved to Detroit, Michigan at the end of 1985 and
started experiencing dramatic health changes.
The first noticeable difference was that my sinus
problems went from wet mucus to hard mucus.
This caused me to experience the most painful
situation I’d ever encountered.... migraine headaches!
They were very specific and only occurred in the
left corner of my right eye!
As
time went on I started to throw up mucus along with
blood from my nose on a daily basis.
I was constantly thirsty, frequently urinating
clear urine and could not sleep more than two hours at a
time without having to get up to urinate then satisfy my
extreme thirst.
My appetite was non-existent and I was losing
weight at a rapid rate.
My energy was lacking and I could no longer
produce any sweat when exercising.
I started developing skin problems such as my
face became two-toned and I would develop little
blisters on my arm, which was described as skin poison
from the sun.
In addition, I developed male sexual problems.
Needless to say the mental aspect of dealing with
this situation (at times) outweighed the physical!
During approximately four years of suffering these
symptoms I saw six or seven doctors and all of them put
me through the same routine.
I would be given chest X-rays, blood tests,
checked for sugar diabetes and given pain pills.
As with the routine, the conclusion was again the
same with each of them telling me, “You have bad sinus
problems and there is nothing we can really do to help
you.”
Finally
after reaching my breaking point I received a free
coupon for a chiropractor, so I took him up on the free
consultation.
After listening to me and taking a few X-rays, he
found the reason for my migraines. The
top bone of my Cervical Vertebrae was just slightly off
center.
My mother had a difficult time giving birth to me
so this had probably been with me since birth. Since my
sinus problems had now turned to hard mucus, when my
cavities filled up it caused the bone to press directly
against a nerve.
This nerve in turn affected the left corner of my
right eye, which is where the migraines always occurred.
After six weeks of twice a week sessions he was
able to correct my problem and my migraines went away.
Now (mid 1990) it was time to find out what was
causing my other symptoms.
As
you should always do when you find a resource that you
have positive results with, ask for referrals to their
associates since most successful people surround
themselves with other successful people.
I felt I was now on a positive path!
I
spent the next several months going through a multitude
of tests with my new doctor.
In February 1991 I was informed that in his
opinion I had two or three weeks until I was going to
fall asleep and never wake up!
The good news was that he finally had came to a
conclusion to what my health problems were being caused
by and it wasn’t “sinus problems”.
He found that there was a problem with my
pituitary gland.
He just didn’t know exactly what it was or what
to do next.
So as a true professional should do, he asked for
help and sent me to an endocrinologist.
After
a few more tests the endocrinologist knew exactly what
my problem was and what we needed to do.
I had developed sarcoidosis in my lungs, liver,
lymph nodes and pituitary gland.
In my case the sarcoidosis went from organ to
organ basically killing the cells it came in contact
with.
This was most evident with my pituitary gland.
To
name a few of the high level conditions that came from
this situation - I could not release the proper amount
of oxygen from my lungs, my immune system was abnormal,
I had developed hypothyroidism, my testosterone level
was insufficient, my entire endocrine system was working
insufficiently and due to my pituitary gland no longer
producing the vasopressin hormone I had developed a rare
case of diabetes insipidus or commonly known as “water
diabetes”.
